MISSION: The American Red Cross, a humanitarian agency lead by volunteers, will help communities prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters and emergencies.

SERVICES: The Chapter provides assistance to victims of single family homes fires and other disaster; partners with County First Responders/EMO for response to major disasters; trains citizens in first aid/CPR/AED/Lifeguarding/Babysitting/Basic Aid Training/Community Disaster Education; collects blood and blood products; serves as emergency communication for military personnel and their families; and offers emergency energy assistance for the elderly/disabled for all ages; and free training for NYS licensed day care Providers and free college credit; and loans medical equipment.

AREAS SERVED: Cayuga County

SUPPORT: Donations from the public, foundations, grants, special events and the United Way and fees for classes

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Instructor of First Aid/CPR/AED; caller/canteen/registration for blood drives; Disaster Action Team (DAT) responding 24/7 emergencies; Military communications callers; office volunteers; and Board members

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; Emergency/On-Call 24/7.
